Latest News - December 2019

Twenty-three delegates from sixteen different countries attended the first European Spinal Cord Rehabilitation 'School'.  The course was jointly hosted by the Midlands Centre for Spinal Injuries, based at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital, Oswestry and the Princess Royal Spinal Injuries Centre based at the Northern General Hospital, Sheffield and ran from Tuesday 11th to Friday 14th June 2019. The course covered a range of topics from the basics to the latest advances in the subject of spinal cord medicine, delivered by professionals from different centres in the UK and abroad. Below is a sample of the excellent feedback received:

‘Overall very good clinical overview on management of acute through to chronic spinal cord injury’
I cannot say which sessions was the most valuable because all of them were very valuable
‘Perhaps you could consider expanding the course to 5 days just to make it a little less intense.  It was quite hard to concentrate at the end of the day which was a shame since all the lectures were interesting.  But really thank you very much for taking the time, the energy for organising the course.  I found it amazing and would love to take part in future courses (hopefully there will be further courses!)’

We hope to do it again, perhaps in 2021! Meanwhile, the Sheffield spinal cord medicine course is planned to take place from 8-10 June 2020. Visit the BSRM website for more details as they become available.
