Prestigious fellowship awarded to Rehabilitation Medicine trainee

Steve bags the prestigious Royal College of Physicians (RCP) & Rosetrees Trust Research Fellowship

Dr Stephen Halpin (seen left above), ST6 in Leeds from the Academic Department of Rehabilitation Medicine (ADRM) has been successful in securing the first joint RCP and Rosetrees Trust fellowship for a year. The grant will fund his time and expenses for his research on use of a new novel technology based on brainwave entrainment technology to be used in the management of sleep problems in chronic pain. One-third of UK population suffer from chronic pain and most of them have sleep problems. This research explores this crucial link between sleep and pain and has the potential to improve quality of life for millions of people in the UK and worldwide. This project is a collaboration between ADRM Leeds, Human Pain Research Group in University of Manchester and University of Warwick.
